The Easiest Way To Style?! Put it on a Tray!

Are you hosting for the holidays and wanting to restyle your coffee table, add some decor to your island, or create a show-stopping table centerpiece!? Our biggest styling tip for these areas: Put it on a tray! Trays aren’t just for serving food and drinks, they also make design easy!

As home stagers, we are always using trays to create vignettes on coffee tables or bar carts. A typical styling moment for us includes a tray, some books to add height, a plant for color and texture, and then some sort of links or decor pieces.

Rounding up items couldn’t be easier. For a coffee table, think larger decor books, a candle and a plant. An island or kitchen counter tray might include a flower arrangement, fresh herbs, or pretty condiment/oil bottles. I love to keep a small tray next to my stove with the items I use daily for pretty decor and easy use.

To create a holiday table centerpiece on a tray, start with fresh greenery (magnolia leaves or other greenery) and then layer it with pomegranates, oranges, and any fruit or foliage you have around. The sky is the limit.

It doesn’t matter what items you style with, trays elevate the presentation and contain the contents beautifully. The hardest part is finding a pretty tray, so we’ve rounded up some great ones for you to start with…
